Elite Heat Waves 2026

To strengthen the Elite heats and raise the level of competitiveness, we will implement some changes to this category starting in 2026: Available spots per event: Male: 30 spots Female: 30 spots Mandatory cutoff time: Male: DEKA Mark under 36 minutes Female: DEKA Mark under 40 minutes Qualification requirement: An official DEKA Mark recorded at a DEKA event within the last 18 months is required. Registration opening: Elite spots will be available from the general registration opening of each event. (Example: Torremolinos 2026 is already available). Final confirmation of your spot will be made 10 days before the event. Selection criteria: If the number of available spots is exceeded, a ranking based on the best accredited DEKA Marks will be used. Spot reassignment: If an athlete does not secure a spot in the Elite heat, they will automatically be reassigned to an AGE GROUP heat, with prior notification. Application: These rules apply only to DEKA events in the 2026 season. They do not apply to 2025 events.
